"Sunday night at ward prayer, I don't know if I was just in a crazy mood or what, but I saw this new guy and really felt like I needed to talk with him. I was pulled. So, I did, and he's nice(,) and his eyes eminate goodness. I really like him, but I don't know him yet. The Spirit made me feel that he is a good person, though."

"So, about Doug... I'm not sure if I ever wrote in here. On the last Sunday before summer-term finals (or the Sunday after?) Tiana was in town. She dropped by to visit as planned. Tiana, Ruth (from downstairs) and I sat on the love-seat all squished together. We got to talking about our dream men. We were in quite a swooney mood. Then it was time for ward prayer. I got fixed up and determinedly sprayed some "Love Spell" perfume, full-knowing of my actions. We were ready! Even Kyra from next door noted the Love Spell as we walked to ward prayer. (Some boys really like the smell. Austin and Mike were the ones who taught us first durin my freshman year. It's my secret weapon...)
"Anyway, as we sang at ward prayer, I saw a new guy standing clear across the way. He struck me. I felt like I should talk with him. After the prayer, I migrated a little to his direction. I went to the couch. (After all, he was chatting with the bishopric, etc.) But, alas, on the couch I was surrounded. Curtis, Erin, and Sienna came to visit. They're all nice, but the small talk kept going. I might have stayed there. But I felt really strong like I needed to go talk to that boy now. So, I suddenly blurted that I would be back. I bolted ... as naturally as possible, of course ... to his direction. He was talking with (the) executive secretary or somebody, and I actually had a question to ask about a temple trip, so I did, and then

"It's 1:33 a.m., but I must at least say, I really like Doug(,) and he likes me! We had an incredible date tonight. This is going somewhere, I think."

Emily! Hello! This is Maren. I just got an email with a link to the BYU English teachers blog and I saw your question on there. Then I saw a link to your blog. How are you? What is going on with your life? The other day Dr. Dean was talking about a student teacher from last semester who had to take over a film class because her teacher's wife almost died. I said, "That was Emily!" Sounds like a crazy experience. And now you are teaching? That's so exciting. Anyway, I was just excited to see you online. I hope you're doing great.
